Sur le pont d'Avignon

Girls dancing on the Pont D'Avignon...So we made it to the pont - it is like a million degrees - we drink water constantly and badoit - the favorite French sparkling mineral water - this walled city has spectacular views - the Palais des Papes was the residence of the papacy during the Italian wars in the 13th and 14th century - it is beautiful and cavernous - you hear all languages and on the streets the girls are looking to find all European Community license plates before leaving Europe- a competiton of sorts on who takes the most variety of digital shots of those license plates - they are neck and neck at the moment - Jacquie scored with the Netherlands and Coco nailed Belgium first.

After the Palais we took the tour and walk of the Pont - the Rhone is quite beautiful - green, wide and slow flowing.

We shopped for some Provencal fabrics and bought a linen table cloth which Marco was kind enough to haul around for the rest of the day.

Sophie and Dominiques middle daughter looks very much like Elise DeFrancesco in Ottawa so we took a photo to email Elise.

We are going to eat with Carmelle DeFrancesco, Dominiques sister then head out tomorrow for a little touring, by way of Nice then cross into Italy late in the day.

My french improves daily and I realise there are many word I do not know... like turret and cornice... ha...

Coco says hi to her friends ...a demain...
